Many of Sega's most popular franchises have transcended gaming and become cultural phemomenons, with their own movies, TV shows and merch ranges. Sega.com needed to modernise to consolidate their IPs into a single destination, while providing an immersive experience for their passionate audiences.
The art and design direction was led by Dan Reeve and Sheetal Schofield, who developed a waterfall concept where a user would slowly be immersed into a franchise's world or game the further into the site they headed.
In order for this to work, both our design system and page templates had to be dynamic and flexible enough to work with the different IP's artwork and design directions. I built out components, stress-tested modules and put together page templates.
The result is a website that works for all fans, whether they're a fan of Sega or Sonic. Created for longevity, It's now capable of coping with the ever evolving Sega-verse.
